Compress PDF
Large PDFs are usually large because of embedded photos or scans. This tool downsamples and re-encodes those images and rewrites the file structure. Text and vector graphics are not touched. How much a PDF shrinks depends entirely on its content – text-only PDFs often cannot be reduced much.

Frequently asked questions
Why did my PDF barely get smaller?
PDFs that contain mostly text or vector graphics, or that were already optimized, have little to compress. If the result would not be smaller, we return your original file unchanged.
Will the text stay sharp?
Yes. Only raster images inside the PDF are recompressed. Text and vector graphics stay exactly as they were.
Are password-protected PDFs supported?
No. Encrypted PDFs are rejected; we never ask for or store passwords.
